Otherland MMO Development will Continue, Note About Otherland Alpha/Beta

News surrounding Otherland has been really quiet lately with only Alpha signups going on at the moment and a little bit of forum discussion here and there. For this weeks news we're covering an important topic regarding the recent insolvency announcement by dtp entertainment, Otherland's co-publisher and global licensee. Also a small note on Otherland's upcoming Alpha/Beta events and access.

Otherland MMO Development Will Continue
Despite dtp Entertainment's recent filing for insolvency, Otherland MMO will continue to be developed and is still scheduled to be released in Q4 of this year. It's important to know here that RealU is not insolvent and is receiving funds from other sources. Read the small blurb below for the official announcement:

This move will not have any influence on the development of the online role-playing game Otherland as financing for that project comes from third parties (including investors and gamigo) and the game is owned by a separate company, "Otherland Co-Produktion GmbH & Co KG".

The developer studio RealU and Otherland Co-Produktion GmbH & Co KG are not insolvent. Development of Otherland will continue as planned. gamigo owns the licensing rights for Europe and North America and is planning to release the MMORPG in the fourth quarter of this year.

Otherland Alpha / Beta Pre-warning
As Otherland nears it's "Closed Alpha" and "Closed Beta" stages, we at Otherland NetFeed want to remind our users that the contents of the game as they are now are under a strict Non-Disclosure Agreement. This basically means you aren't allowed to talk about the game at all. Below is a list of broad things you cannot do:

You cannot post any material relating to the game that is not already publicly known.
You cannot mention that you are taking place in the alpha/beta events.
You cannot disclose the information of other users who are participating in the events
You cannot disclose the location of material that has been uploaded to the internet against the NDA and link it here

That's basically the gist of it. You can't post really anything to do with the beta or its contents. Such actions will be dealt with swiftly and without warning, and may lead to legal action by gamigo.

While I would love to be involved in one of these phases taken care of here, it's likely you have to do that at their own forums, and they will announce when their next application phase begins.
